TOWER Paddle Boards, is a company that started as a small tadpole in the big ocean of the paddle board industry. They’ve been cranking out not just any paddle boards, but top-quality inflatable paddle boards that are both budget-friendly and superbly durable. No wonder they were known as one of America’s fastest growing companies. Here we’ll review the Tower S-Class paddle board.

Back in 2012, the visionary behind TOWER, a cool cat named Stephan Aarstol, strolled onto the stage of a TV show, “Shark Tank”. With a sparkle in his eye, he laid out his dream of creating a high-quality, yet affordable range of paddle boards.

With a sparkle in his eye, he laid out his dream of creating a high-quality, yet affordable range of inflatable sups. The sharks took the bait! None other than Mark Cuban saw the gleam of potential in TOWER and dove right in, investing a cool $150,000 in this paddle board company. Ever since TOWER Paddle has been riding the wave of success in the paddle boarding world.

Speed on the water
The TOWER Paddle Board S Class might not be the speediest on the market, but it’s a top choice for folks who love touring and exploring on the water.

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 5

Transport
No bag comes with the Tower Paddle board S Class, so you need to buy one. But, this board is really light! It’s easy to lift up high. It has three handles one in the middle, one on the front, and one on the back so it’s easy to carry around.

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 6

Stability
The stability of the TOWER Paddle Board S Class gets an 8 out of 10 from me! It sits pretty well in the water and is super steady. You’ll be paddling smoothly on it in no time!

Personal Experience With The TOWER S-Class Paddle Board

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 7
TOWER S-Class Paddle Board

The day I got my TOWER S-Class Paddle Board was so exciting. It came in two boxes, all wrapped up safe. But I was sad when I saw that there was no bag or leash! I needed a carry bag for these for my paddle board trips. I noticed the gear looked a bit old. The paddle had a big blade and a small handle, and the pump needed me to check the air pressure on a separate gauge. That’s not really easy to store and use.

What I did love was the simple design of the board. It was very clean and easy to look at. It even came with a book called ‘The Five Hour Workday’, which was a nice touch. But the fin was a problem. It only fit this type of board, so I couldn’t switch it with a different fin. There were two extra fins on the sides though, which helped the board stay stable. But the fact there was no leash was a big downside they’re important for safety!

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 8
TOWER S-Class Paddle Board

The paddle was heavy, which made my arms and shoulders tired. I would rather use that energy on getting better at paddling, not on lifting a heavy paddle. The board itself looked great, but the extra gear wasn’t as good. It was super light and easy to pick up with one hand. There were three handles and it had nice stripes. And there was a band on the front to hold your stuff.

After trying it out, I was happy with the board. It was easy to use and didn’t tip over. It was also good at handling waves because of the way the front was shaped. But it didn’t have a kick-pad at the back, so it was better for calm tours than wild rides.

Important Features of the TOWER S-Class Paddle Board

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 9

Setup

  • Strong Build: The TOWER paddle boards are made using the iSUP fusion build method. Just like making a really strong sandwich!
  • Super Steady: These boards are like the big comfy couches of the water world – they’re wide, so you won’t easily fall off.
  • Easy to Carry: Think of Tower boards as air mattresses for water. You can deflate them, roll them up, and chuck ’em in a backpack. Easy-peasy!
  • Loads of Praise: People on the internet have been giving thumbs up to Tower iSUPs for over ten years. Even the posh Robb Report magazine said one of our iSUPs is the top dog in the SUP world!
Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 10

Fins
This TOWER sups fin is special. It only fits certain Tower paddle boards, so you can’t swap it with just any fin. Plus, there are two extra fins on the sides to keep you balanced and help increased stability. It’s a bummer you can’t change the main fin, but those extra ones are a cool plus!

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 11

Material
The TOWER S-Class Paddle Board is a model made a little different from other TOWER SUP boards, instead of a famous double-layer, hand-glued build, it’s a model made with something called fusion construction. They want to make a more wallet and price-friendly board for folks just starting out.

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 12

Inflate / deflate
This pump is a bit of a workout to use, and it’s a single-action type. It pushes a lot of air in each go. With this pump, I could only get the board up to 12 psi, even though it’s supposed to hit 15 psi. To top it off, the hose was leaky, so I had to use a backup pump to finish the job. It took me 4.5 minutes to get to 12 psi with the first pump, and another minute with the second one to reach 15 psi. So all up, I was pumping for 5.5 minutes.

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 13

Warranty
Just so you know, the TOWER S-Class Paddle Board comes with a one-year warranty. So if anything goes wrong with the board’s build or materials in that first year, you’re covered!

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 14

Design
This board keeps it simple, but the stripes give a nice touch. And it has an extra bungee cord in the front for your stuff. The board looks really neat and tidy, all white with a typical Tower style. It’s pretty cool!

In The PackageTOWER S-Class Paddle Board

As soon as I opened the box, I noticed something was off. The bag and leash were missing! Those are two super important things you need to get your SUP adventure started. So, that’s a bit of a bummer, to be honest.

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 15
TOWER S-Class Paddle Board

Paddle

The paddle has three parts, so you can adjust it to fit you. It’s made of fiberglass. The blade part is pretty big, which makes the weight of it heavy. That much weight means when you’re paddling, your arms and shoulders are gonna feel it. It’s a bit of a shame, ’cause you’d rather use that energy to work on your paddling skills, speed, and stamina.

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 16
TOWER S-Class Paddle Board

Pump

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 17
TOWER S-Class Paddle Board

Using the pump can feel like you’re lifting weights, it’s quite heavy. And when you’re trying to pump above 10 psi, it gets even tougher. It’s like trying to blow up a super big balloon when you’re already out of breath. It could really do with being a bit easier to use.

Repair kit and Glue

The fix-it kit comes with two patches of PVC and a tool to tighten up hex screw on the valve. It’s like a mini toolbox for your inflatable sup!

US Box Fin

Tower S-Class Paddle Boards 18
TOWER S-Class Paddle Board

The fin attachment is US Box Fin. On this board the secure fin is like a special key, it only fits certain TOWER paddle boards. So sadly, you can’t switch it out for a different one. But, it does have two extra fins attached on the sides to help keep you balanced. So, it’s not all bad news!

Book

A cool little extra is that you get a book called ‘The Five Hour Workday’ with your board. It’s like a surprise present for a complete guide!

Additional Accessories For Your TOWER S-Class Paddle Board

Life Jacket

This is a must-have accessory, especially if there will be children or pets on the paddleboard. You can’t just put on any old life jacket and call it good when paddle boarding. You need a properly-fitting personal flotation device (PFD) that is comfortable and won’t get in your way while paddling. While there are many different types and styles of PFDs on the market, here are a few things to consider when choosing the right one for you.

Consider the type of paddle boarding you’ll be doing most often. If you are doing primarily flatwater paddling, you’ll want a different PFD than if you’re planning on tackling some whitewater rapids. Comfort is vital. You don’t want to constantly adjust and readjust your PFD while you’re out on the water, so make sure it fits well and doesn’t chafe or rub in any uncomfortable ways.

Because the Komodo SUP has so many activities to offer, it’s best to invest in a high-quality and comfortable life jacket to keep the passengers safe. Keep in mind that you must ensure everyone’s safety. With more options to choose from, an infant life jacket and a dog life jacket are available.

Waterproof Fanny Pack

If you’re planning on hitting the waves for a day of paddle boarding, you’ll want to make sure you have all the gear you need to stay safe and comfortable. One essential item is a waterproof fanny pack. This will help keep your valuables safe and dry as you enjoy your time on the water. There are a few things to consider when choosing a waterproof fanny pack.

First, think about what size you need. A smaller bag will be fine if you’re only bringing a few small items with you. But if you’re carrying things like sunscreen, snacks, and extra clothes, you’ll need something more significant.

Electric Pump

The electric pump is an excellent addition to any paddle boarder’s arsenal. It is easy to get your board inflated and ready to hit the water. No more struggling with manual pumps or worrying about whether or not you’ve got enough air in your board. The electric pump does all the work for you.

Kayak Conversion Kit/Seat Cushion

Because the Gili Komodo SUP is also a great fishing paddleboard, you might want to consider adding a kayak seat to make your experience more comfortable and enjoyable, especially if you have a passenger.

Water Proof Speakers

A waterproof speaker will enhance your paddling experience on the water. While you’re doing your activity, listen to your favorite song! When paddling, good music will lighten the mood; you can even dance while on the water on this paddleboard because it is guaranteed to be stable! Invest in a high-quality, waterproof sticker that you will be able to use for a long time.

Hard/Soft Coolers

The Gili paddleboard has two storage areas on the front and back, allowing you to add either a hard or soft cooler. Bring your favorite drink out on the water with you! It’s so much easier to stay hydrated when you have a SUP Cooler with you! This is also recommended for paddlers who will be out on the water for several hours!

Paddle board lock

While paddle boarding is a relatively new sport, its popularity has exploded in recent years. With that increase in popularity, there has also been an increase in people looking for ways to protect their investments. A Paddleboard lock is one of the best ways to do that. There are a few different types of paddleboard locks on the market, but they all serve the same purpose – to keep your board safe from theft. The most important thing to look for in a lock is something that will be difficult for thieves to cut through or break.

Optional accessories (my must-haves – not included)

Here are two of my favorite accessories for this year. One for safety and one because I like to use my time wisely (like take pictures while my board inflates itself) πŸ˜‹

Difference between an Inflatable board and a Hard board

Advantages Inflatable board

  • Easy to take on holiday (even on the plane)
  • Easy to store in the winter days
  • Much cheaper
  • Technology has improved greatly over the past 10 years. For this reason, these boards are now almost hard to distinguish from hard boards

Advantages Hardboard

  • More speed, which is important if you are a professional
  • Easier to make sharp turns on the water because the board is thinner
  • No inflation needed, you can get on the water right away

Conclusion | TOWER S-Class Paddle Board

Here’s the lowdown on the TOWER S-Class Paddle Board from yours truly, a die-hard paddle board fan. This board’s pretty solid. I mean, it’s built tough and sturdy, so it’s not gonna back down from any wave or rogue piece of driftwood. One thing I love? It’s wider which means it’s super stable. Trust me, that’s a big win if you’re just starting out or if you’re like me and fancy a relaxing, worry free ride.

Portability? You got it! It rolls up like a sleeping bag. The design of Tower Paddle Board S Class is clean and simple, with stylish stripes that really make it pop. It even has a bungee cord upfront for all your gear.

Now, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. The fin’s a bit picky, it only fits certain TOWER boards, so no swapping. And the paddle, while adjustable and pretty durable, is on the heavy side, so be ready for a mini workout. Another thing, the paddle board doesn’t come with a bag or a leash. Those are pretty big deals accessories when you’re buying a paddle board, in my opinion. But remember, no board is perfect, right? The important thing is it’s a great entry-level option. It’s more affordable than other models but still offers the quality that Tower is known for.

That’s the scoop on the TOWER S-Class Paddle Board. Whether you’re a newbie or an old hand, it could be your next favorite thing on the beach or water. How about paddling in Tower beach club in San Diego if you’re near the area and give it a whirl? Remember, life’s a wave. Catch it with a great stand up paddle board move! Happy paddling paddlers!
