With a capacity of up to 10 people and a weight capacity of over 1000 pounds, everyone is sure to have a good time and enjoy the beach.

The Bluefin Mammoth Paddle board is ideal for a large family or a large group of friends. You won’t believe the amount of weight this paddle board can carry. Take a look at the details as I review this Family-Friendly Paddle board!

Pro’s

  • It can carry up to 10 people
  • Perfect group board
  • Incredible weight capacity
  • Strong and rigid
  • Stable
  • Five years warranty

Cons

  • Challenging for single-person use
  • The board does not include paddles

  • Cannot be steered alone

The Bluefin Mammoth Paddleboard, which has a massive 650 kg weight limit, can be used by up to ten people at once. The Mammoth is designed for families or groups to travel together, with a large trackpad area. So, get ready to never go on another adventure alone!

The Bluefin Mammoth is designed to be travel-friendly and portable. Carrying it was not a problem since it weighs only 27kg and fits easily into the included Bluefin SUP backpack, which is easy for me to transport on all modes of transportation, allowing you to take your adventures abroad!

bluefin mammoth
Bluefin Mammoth design

The Bluefin Mammoth is a capable SUP. Even when fully loaded, the board remains exceptionally stable. You’ll be able to paddle safely with your friends on flat water lakes or small waves in the ocean.

It is made of extra-thick PVC with an 8-inch thickness to ensure that the board does not bend easily, but be sure to distribute the weight evenly across the board. Although you may want to carry this 27 kg board together, it comes in a package with a high-pressure pump and a backpack, as shown above.

With 13 comfortable neoprene carrying handles, you’ll be able to transport the board to the water and back quickly. The board’s trackpad is also quite large, ensuring that everyone has a good grip on this massive paddle board.

Beginners will appreciate the fact that this set already includes the entire rig and some accessories. Overall, although designed for advance paddlers, it’s fantastic for beginner WindSUP. The only criticism is that no leash and paddle are included in the package.

I liked this board for paddling around while relaxing along the shore on my holiday. It is easier to make turns because of the kick pad. You can lean back, lift the front up a bit and make a quick turn.

Bluefin Mammoth 18' Paddle Board: SUP With Everyone on Board! 3

Speed on the water
In terms of speed, don’t expect too much from the Bluefin Mammoth due to its size. However, it excels in all other areas. The paddle board is designed for a group of people, and speed is not a priority. The Bluefin Mammoth paddle board is perfect for corporate team building, cruising around with the kids and dogs, or simply hanging out with friends.

Bluefin Mammoth 18' Paddle Board: SUP With Everyone on Board! 4

Transport
Although this board can accommodate up to ten people, transportation is not an issue because it is designed to be portable and travel-friendly. The Bluefin Mammoth is quite heavy in absolute terms, weighing in at 27 kilograms. Despite its enormous size, it is relatively light, thanks to its innovative material.

It fits easily into the Bluefin SUP backpack that comes with it. There are also 13 handles on the board’s rails, making this large iSUP much easier to transport. You won’t have to worry about your travel as you’ll be able to transport it in all modes of transportation, ensuring that you’ll have a fun adventure with the group wherever you go!

Bluefin Mammoth 18' Paddle Board: SUP With Everyone on Board! 5

Stability
There’s an explanation why this iSUP is known as the Mammoth: It’s Massive! You’ll never have to worry about stability with a length of 18 feet and a width of 5 feet. It can comfortably accommodate three people doing yoga at the same time. A wide tail and five fins help the Mammoth maintain its stability.

My own experience

Bluefin mammoth
Enjoying a picnic on the lake with my friend on the Mammoth

When I first started unboxing this board, I was excited because I had a lot of ideas for things I could do with my family, friends, and girlfriend! We will enjoy this paddleboard when my child grows up (Let’s not rush on that, though! :p). It’s also a plus because it’s highly portable, allowing you to take it wherever you go! It’s more fun to paddle around with your friends and family!

I had no idea how big it was until I started inflating it. I recently used the Mammoth paddleboard with some friends at one of my favorite local beaches, and I had a great time doing so! This product has exceeded my expectations, not only because I was able to enjoy it with my friends, but also because it surprised me!

Why? From the beginning of this post, you know that the Mammoth Paddleboard is huge, right? It was so easy to roll up as I was rolling it up! With this paddleboard, you can travel with ease!

As more people discover how fun it is to SUP with others, giant paddleboards are becoming increasingly popular. The Bluefin Mammoth is one of the larger big SUPs on the market, measuring 18 feet long with plenty of deck space for multiple paddlers.

The Bluefin Mammoth is made of triple-layered military-grade PVC. It has overlapping seams for added strength and rigidity. This iSUP can hold 10 people when fully inflated to 15 PSI. It will not sag or bend. It’s also almost indestructible.

A large EVA foam deck pad with a diamond crocodile grip pattern covers the Bluefin Mammoth’s top deck. The non-slip Croco-diamond deck pad is gentle on the feet and adds extra grip and traction. The large and comfortable crocodile print deck pad is thermo-sealed.

The SUP also includes a secure cargo net for storing valuables and extra gear and multiple D rings for customization and functionality. There are also 13 carry handles on the rails of the board, making this large iSUP much easier to transport.

Eight stainless steel D-rings run along the sides of the traction pad and can be used to secure a SUP cooler, dry bags, or other SUP accessories.

Three more grab handles and a large bungee storage area for additional cargo capacity are located at the nose.

It has five rear fins that can be removed. There is a large soft pad on the deck where everyone can relax. It comes with several valves to make inflation easier. Multiple valves make inflation and deflation quick and straightforward. Use your Mammoth SUP all day and never worry about running out of pressure because it can be used at pressures as low as 8 PSI.

The comfortable neoprene band allows you to wear the coiled leash on your ankle or calf. Dense coils that never trail behind the board eliminate drag, making it ideal for flats to moderate chop. The velcro rail-saver end makes a more secure connection to the D-rings on the board.

A carrying bag, dual-action pump, and iSUP repair kit are included in the box. The Bluefin Mammoth, just like all of Bluefin SUP’s inflatables, comes with the company’s 5-year warranty, which is currently the best in the market.

Bluefin mammoth
The Bluefin Mammoth and its magnificence

This package does not include paddles, which I believe would make it a perfect paddleboard if it did, but that is not an issue because the paddleboard itself and its features will provide you with all the fun you need!

Since there are multiple valves on the Bluefin Mammoth, I suggest that you might want to invest in a second pump or, better yet, an electric pump for quick and efficient inflation.

The only drawback to this product is that it does not come with a paddle. However, the most common complaint is that this SUP is never available. Is this a positive or negative thing? That, in my opinion, should be viewed as a positive! That simply means that many people are purchasing this product, despite their complaints and opinions, and that the Bluefin Mammoth is popular among them! A fantastic two-in-one board.

Bluefin Mammoth 18' Paddle Board: SUP With Everyone on Board! 7

Fins
Multiple tracking fins ensure precise handling and stability in any situation. Take your SUP wherever you want and on any body of water. Thanks to its five detachable smart-lock fins, the Mammoth tracks well for its size.

Bluefin Mammoth 18' Paddle Board: SUP With Everyone on Board! 8

Material
The Mammoth is engineered with increased stability and military-grade durability, with 11200 stitches of 500 denier space yarn per square meter. Assuring that it will withstand a lifetime of water any activities!

Bluefin Mammoth 18' Paddle Board: SUP With Everyone on Board! 9

Inflate / deflate
On both the UP and DOWN portions of each pump, the high-pressure and dual-action pump quickly inflates the Mammoth. Two inflation valves allow multiple people to pump simultaneously, cutting down on time it takes to inflate the board.

We only needed about seven minutes to achieve an air pressure of 11 PSI. If you want to drive the board to eight instead of four, you should use the full 15 PSI (roughly one bar) of pressure.

It also doesn’t take long to dismantle. The air must first be squeezed out of the board, after which it must be halved, unfolded, and stowed in the backpack.

Unfortunately, the Mammoth only comes with one hand pump, so if you want to use the dual-valve feature (which is a big deal on such a giant board because it takes a lot more work to inflate), you’ll have to buy another one.

Bluefin Mammoth 18' Paddle Board: SUP With Everyone on Board! 10

Warranty
Bluefin backs up its build quality with a five-year warranty and a 60-day satisfaction guarantee.

Bluefin Mammoth 18' Paddle Board: SUP With Everyone on Board! 11

Design
The Bluefin Mammoth has a sporty appearance, and its color scheme complements the surroundings perfectly. The bow is light blue at the top, the stern is white, and the intermediate deck pad is gray. The rails are also light blue, with a light blue contrast stripe with Bluefin lettering on the white underside for a sporty look.

In the Package

Bluefin Mammoth SUP Backpack

This great transport bag fits the Bluefin Mammoth perfectly and can be easily transported in it. There’s also enough room for a good air pump. The front of the backpack is decorated with chic logo lettering in blue. Bluefin Stand-Up Paddle Boards deflate quickly and fit into the included backpack for easy storage. The Mammoth fits into any vehicle, allowing you to explore new waterways worldwide on boats, buses, trains, and planes.

Dual Action Pump

This air pump has two cylinders and three modes in total. When air is pushed down in the first mode, it is pumped with only one cylinder, similar to a single-stroke pump. The second mode uses two cylinders on the down, and the third mode, which uses both cylinders on the down and the pull-up, is particularly effective (and exhausting). The air pump’s processing quality is excellent, and inflating the board is not particularly difficult.

5 Detachable Bluefin Mammoth Fins

Both the four side fins and the middle fin are shaped like a dolphin and are secured in seconds using Bluefin’s well-known Smartlock system’s small lever. Multiple tracking fins ensure precise handling and stability in any situation. Take your SUP wherever you want and on any body of water.

Leash

If you want to use them, you’ll also need to purchase leashes (safety lines). It is not included in the Bluefin mammoth package. One of the best stand-up paddleboard safety devices you can use is your board’s leash, which you should use every time your paddleboard.

Paddles

Paddles are not included in the Bluefin Mammoth set, so you’ll have to buy one for each team member, which adds to the cost. On the other hand, the friends might be enthusiastic about stand-up paddling and bring their paddles to the tour. As a result, everyone can choose the paddle that best suits their needs.

Optional accessories (my must-haves – not included)

Here are two of my favorite accessories for this year. One for safety and one because I like to use my time wisely (like take pictures while my board inflates itself) πŸ˜‹

Difference between an Inflatable board and a Hard board

Advantages Inflatable board

  • Easy to take on holiday (even on the plane)
  • Easy to store in the winter days
  • Much cheaper
  • Technology has improved greatly over the past 10 years. For this reason, these boards are now almost hard to distinguish from hard boards

Advantages Hardboard

  • More speed, which is important if you are a professional
  • Easier to make sharp turns on the water because the board is thinner
  • No inflation needed, you can get on the water right away

Other reviews of the Bluefin Mammoth online

The Mammoth is a known name and in the top 5 of Bluefin boards, so it has a lot of reviews online.

“This paddle board is a monster and has all the room and stability, but one person can paddle it. It takes a while to fill up, but it’s tons of fun once it’s full and can easily handle rough and calm waters. Both air ports feed the same air chamber, so you can fill it from either side or have pumps going simultaneously. one person can paddle it around, but it is easier with two or more. It’s very comfortable to stand or lay on and has all the room you could need for anything you want to do. It comes with a hand pump, but I would recommend an electric pump. no paddles are included.”

Amazon.com

Weighing in at 27kg, this SUP is quite heavy but can be carried with its backpack. This is a SUP experience that is unparalleled for those who enjoy group activities on the water – and it’s super stable due to the incredible volume it provides. This board is an absolute beast so be prepared to get your friends to help with pumping it up! It’ll be worth it when you get on the water though, I promise.”

trailandkale.com

“With its gigantic dimensions, the Bluefin Mammoth is an eye-catching board on the market. It’s great for family outings, paddling with friends, but also for team-building events or as a great prelude to a bachelor party or other celebration. Extraordinary experiences are thus guaranteed.”

stand-up-paddling.org

“The Bluefin Mammoth 18’ is my choice as the best multi-person stand-up paddle board overall. It is a very well-built multi-person SUP with excellent stability and a fantastic 1,430 lbs. weight limit. The Mammoth also comes with a five-year warranty to give you confidence that it will deliver high performance for a long time.”

Conclusion – Should I buy this board?

To sum up my thoughts on the Bluefin Mammoth 18’ Paddleboard, I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys paddling with friends or in a group. With its massive dimensions, the Bluefin Mammoth is a standout board. It’s perfect for family outings, paddling trips with friends, team-building events, or as a fun way to kick off a bachelor party or other celebration. It’s a guarantee that you’ll have an extraordinary time.

I also liked the fact that, despite its size, the Bluefin Mammoth SUP is designed to be portable, and I have no trouble transporting it! It was simple to roll up when we returned home. If you want to inflate your paddle board faster, I recommend buying an electric SUP Pump, but if you don’t need one and have friends to help you, I suppose that won’t be an issue because it has multiple chambers where you can inflate it both at the same time.

Since it is made of high-quality materials, the Bluefin Mammoth is very durable in terms of structure and appearance. If there is a drawback to this paddle board, it is that it does not come with a paddle.
