Speed on the water
If you’re seeking speed, the Freein Kayak SUP may not be the board you’re expecting. While its length allows for reasonable speed, it’s not designed for super high speeds.

Transport
The Freein Kayak SUP offers the advantage of being lightweight, which is a definite plus. It’s worth noting that the bag lacks side pockets or additional compartments, meaning everything is stored in one main compartment. Additionally, the bag does not feature wheels for rolling.

Stability
I awarded this board a high score for its exceptional stability. It maintains maximum stability and glides smoothly on the water surface.

As a passionate paddleboard enthusiast, let me share my exhilarating experience with the Freein Kayak SUP 10’6. From the moment I received the package, I was impressed by the meticulous packaging.

The neatly packed box provided ample space, and the contents were thoughtfully wrapped in plastic with additional foam protection for the SUP. Upon unpacking, I was thrilled to find a comprehensive package, including all the necessary accessories. While the accessories had a basic appearance, their quality was commendable.

The board itself had an immaculate and polished look, with a striking color combination that stood out. The carbon look at the back added a touch of sophistication.

The board’s design included practical features such as a D-ring for leash attachment at the backsix D-rings for the kayak seat, a bungee cord at the front for luggage, and an action cam mount at the front. Additionally, a D-ring beneath the SUP offered the possibility of using it as a tow eye.

When I hit the water, the board’s stability impressed me right away. It effortlessly glided and sat perfectly on the water’s surface. While it may not reach super high speeds due to its length, it still allowed for reasonable speed.

Paddling on this board was a joy, thanks to its smooth maneuverability and exceptional stability, making it ideal for touring and providing a solid foundation for a confident start.

Diamond pad that’s comfortable and stable for the feet!

One of the standout features of the Freein Kayak SUP is its versatility. The option to transform it into a kayak was a delightful addition, especially for those times when standing up constantly isn’t preferred.

However, I did encounter a minor issue with the paddle, as it seemed to swab through the water, likely due to being slightly deformed during transit.

Installing the kayak seat was relatively straightforward, although it required a bit of tinkering to achieve the desired adjustment. It was disappointing, though, that the kayak seat lacked a bar for foot support and added maximum comfort for riders.

Overall, the Freein Kayak SUP 10’6 provided an exhilarating paddling experience. Its impressive stabilitybeautiful design, and included accessories made it a fantastic choice for both stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking adventures.

The paddle is designed with three adjustable parts, allowing for customization. It is made of aluminum with a cheap plastic blade.

One notable feature is that the paddle includes an additional blade, enabling its conversion into a kayak paddle. However, it’s worth mentioning that the blade size is slightly larger than average.

Pump

The hand pump provided is a double action pump, conveniently matching the color of the board, which in this case is red.

Leash

The leash is another important accessory that comes with the Freein Kayak SUP. It’s a coiled leash that attaches to your ankle and the board. Leashes ensure that the board doesn’t get away from you if you fall off, but having a coiled leash is a much better option than a regular one.

The coiled leash is shorter and stretches only when needed, so it automatically does not get entangled between your legs when paddling.

Fins

The fin of the board is a plastic fin placed in a US fin box, secured by a fixed nut within the box. The screw is connected to the fin using a lock washer for added stability.

The repair kit includes two PVC patches and a valve key for quick and easy repairs. Additionally, it comes with a compressor adapter, although it is unlikely to be utilized in practical situations.

Adaptor for the compressor

Difference between an Inflatable board and a Hard board

Advantages Inflatable board

  • Easy to take on holiday (even on the plane)
  • Easy to store in the winter days
  • Much cheaper
  • Technology has improved greatly over the past 10 years. For this reason, these boards are now almost hard to distinguish from hard boards

Advantages Hardboard

  • More speed, which is important if you are a professional
  • Easier to make sharp turns on the water because the board is thinner
  • No inflation needed, you can get on the water right away

These boards are just right. Great for ocean, bay, lake, kids, adults, everything! Bought one last summer, loved it so much we just bought a second.

I like that this SUP comes with a seat and a convertible paddle (one or two oars). It is narrower and longer than some so not as stable as wider ones but is light, easy to carry, and easy to inflate/deflate (especially with a powered pump:). My only complaint is the screw that holds the middle fin in place came broken on one and quickly broke on the second one so it’s easy to lose!!

The Freein 10’6 has proven it’s a board for the beginner and the paddler who loves to paddle but can’t afford the pricey boards. A great deal of effort has been put into this board to make it as amazing as possible, and while it’s not perfect, it makes an effort to get close!

Like the quality and look. Worked great. Survived a long weekend at a mountain lake. Heavyweights would need a wider board. But I am happy with my purchase.
