A playful board suited for the whole family

The Aqua Marina Super Trip is an extra big inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board that is very stable and allows you to take a partner and a child or a pet. This allows you to have fun on the water with the whole family without having to get two separate paddle boards. Because together is always better than alone.

The Aqua Marina Super Trip is great for taking along a partner and a child and/or pet, so you can all have fun together on the water. The big platform offers a lot of stability and makes it easy to maintain your balance. This Aqua Marina board is especially suitable for starters and people who have less than 3 years of SUP experience. The board is not very fast (partly because it is inflatable) but mainly focuses on sportiness and fun.

Speed on the water
The board is pretty long with 12’2″, but 32″ wide. So if you work together well you can achieve some speed, but nothing like on racing boards.

Transport
It is very easy to transport this SUP because it is inflatable and light. Even on your back if you go with a bicycle.

Stability
The board is stable on the water and the weight capacity of 463 lbs is enough to take a partner and a pet or a child along.

My own experience

I tried out the board together with my girlfriend (sorry ladies!), which was only our second time together on a Stand Up Paddle Board so I was excited to see how it would go.

The board is not especially wide with a width of 32″, but the length of 12’2″ offers enough space to line up together and try to synchronize to make a good pace together. Which I must admit took us a few minutes to get it all perfectly aligned. But we managed to make quite some pace because of the width not being as extreme, so that worked out great.

This board is good for touring as you can easily keep balance and you have enough space to take your stuff, which I put in a dry bag underneath the front bungee cord. Water, snacks, some sandwiches and fruit, enough so even some of it was left for me to eat 😉

The board itself is big and sturdy and offers enough space, but I also have to admit there are some things that could have been done better. There are no paddles or leashes included with this board, which is always a big miss to me.

Furthermore the board only has 1 D-ring on the back for a safety leash, so the front person cannot use one (unless you attach your leash to the middle carrying handle, but that just doesn’t seem right to me). This could have been thought over more so both passengers would always be able to wear a paddle board leash in the right way.

I find the Aqua Marina Super Trip the most suitable for calm waters, this is not a board you want to catch waves with. But then this is usually the case with multi-person boards. When the water is quiet at the beach it is good to use, but generally you will prefer lakes or slow rivers for this board.

The drop stitch technology becomes more advanced every year, which makes the board rock hard and you barely feel that you are standing on an inflatable. The thickness of 6″ provides extra stability because the board reacts less to waves and other movements of the water.

You can certainly carry your SUP board with you, but you don’t have to put extra stuff in it, otherwise it could tear through. In the long run it is better to buy a higher quality backpack.
