What’s interesting is that the Glide whitewater paddle board was created by a professional whitewater rider with over 25 years of experience. This means that the board was designed with experience in mind.

If you’re looking for a SUP board that will take you on extreme adventures in rough waters, this is the SUP board for you!

This paddleboard is primarily intended to withstand any river extremes that may be thrown at you. It glides through Class I, II, and III rapids with ease.

What I liked about this SUP board was the fusion technology they used to make it stiff and perform well in the water. Apart from the full-length EVA deck pad, it has a comfortable neoprene handle to help riders carry the paddleboard out into the water.

This is a high-quality, durable, and stable board without having to worry about the weight of the SUP board because it is lightweight and easy to maneuver. If you are interested in this Glide whitewater paddle board, I will go into more detail below.

Glide Whitewater Paddle Board Review 1

Primary use
Whitewater /Fitness/Yoga/Recreational

Glide Whitewater Paddle Board Review 2

Speed on the water
Not the fastest SUP board available, and is not designed to provide the necessary speed. It is intended for river cruises but can also be used as a fitness SUP board due to its high weight capacity and great stability.

Glide Whitewater Paddle Board Review 3

Transport
The O2 Lochsa Glide Whitewater Paddleboard is lightweight, making transportation easier and more convenient. It also has comfortable neoprene handles for easy and comfortable carrying. Like any other SUP board, the paddleboard comes with a quality backpack.

Glide Whitewater Paddle Board Review 4

Stability
The Glide whitewater paddle board is extremely stable and ideal for cruising on the water. In nature, this is long-lasting and stable. This paddleboard is designed for rough waters and will perform well. The Eva Deck pad and soft neoprene handles will keep every rider comfortable during long SUP expeditions.

Professional’s Experience

I had a lot of fun with my Gilde Whitewater Paddle Board experience because this SUP board is best used for river cruising. I tested it on rivers to see if the board provides the performance stated on the board’s features.

To begin with, this SUP board is strong and will provide you with a stiff paddleboard when inflated to a maximum air pressure of 13-15 PSI. I did inflate my paddleboard to 15 PSI using the SUP hand pump that came with the package.

However, my experience with their hand SUP pump was below satisfactory, and to shorten the process and to always make sure that you are inflating your board to the exact PSI required, I recommend getting an electric SUP pump. I believe they should improve and innovate their SUP hand pump to make it more convenient for riders without tiring them out before paddling.

If you want an easier and more convenient way to inflate your SUP, I recommend investing in a good SUP pump!

Glide Lochsa

I also liked that the Glide whitewater paddle board has a whitewater rocker and a flat bottom, allowing you to paddle in rough water. It would have been even better if they had included an Action Mount in the package so that I could capture the experience and share my adventure with everyone.

Glide Lochsa
Glide Lochsa

It was very simple for me to maneuver the paddleboard, and it feels very sturdy and durable in the water, making it very stable. If you encounter rough waters or need to avoid rocks, these will be much easier for you to control, especially if you are an experienced paddler.

The Glide Whitewater Paddleboard employs fusion technology, which provides this SUP board with stiffness and performance.

Paddling in choppy water? Cruising on the water? You will never have to be concerned because this SUP board will provide you with the best performance in extreme activities. This is made of quadruple layers of Military Grade PVC with a woven drop-stitch core.

It has a fin box in the style of the United States, making it easy to swap out SUP fins. The replacement of the fins is simple, as is the installation. The Glide whitewater paddle board also has soft neoprene handles.

A minor drawback of this SUP board, but one that could be significant, is the lack of additional D-rings. This means that you will be unable to attach any optional accessories while paddling on longer trips.

For me, this SUP board is not primarily for beginners, but if you dare to try and want to learn more extreme water adventures, I believe beginners can also enjoy this SUP board.

In terms of package inclusions, with the Glide whitewater paddle board, you will receive a backpack with rolling wheels, allowing you to easily transport your SUP board while traveling. It comes with a paddle, a leash, a SUP hand pump, and a repair kit.

The Glide whitewater paddle board comes with a two-year warranty and a 30-day return policy in case there are any problems with the SUP board.

Glide Whitewater Paddle Board Review 5

  • The Glide whitewater paddle board has a front bungee where you can store your valuables while cruising and paddling down the river.
  • It has a Diamond Traction for maximum grip, ensuring your comfort and convenience while paddling.
  • The Glide whitewater paddle board comes with a high-quality inflation valve rated at 25 PSI.
  • It has a fin box from the United States. That simply means that you can use any fins that are compatible with this fin box.
  • The Glide whitewater paddle board has a high-quality and ultra-durable fusion construction, which makes your SUP board durable, stiff, and stable in any rough waters a rider may encounter.
  • It has a flat bottom and white water rocker for aggressive paddling. Because of this feature, you can go on extreme adventures with less worry.
  • The Glide whitewater paddle board has reinforced rails to ensure the rigidity and performance of the board.
  • Due to its length and wide surface area, this SUP board is ideal for fitness/yoga. The stability is also noteworthy.
  • The patent-pending GSS ultra-durable coating withstands river and rock abuse.
  • For shallow water, there are two fixed side fins.
  • The Glide whitewater paddle board has a high volume for increased buoyancy.

  • Glide’s exclusive Kick Pad is built into the deck mat of the Glide whitewater paddle board.
Glide Whitewater Paddle Board Review 6

Fins
The Glide whitewater paddle board fins include a removable center fin and two side fins. The central fin for this SUP board is attached to a US fin box, which is advantageous because the fins for this board can be easily replaced. It is also simple to install, and with its fin, it can make the board more maneuverable and stable.

Glide Whitewater Paddle Board Review 7

Material
The Glide whitewater paddle board is made of four layers of military-grade PVC and a woven drop stitch core. This stiffens and strengthens the SUP board, resulting in a perfectly balanced SUP board. With its design, you will have an ideal board for navigating rapids and rough waters.

Glide Whitewater Paddle Board Review 8

Inflate / deflate
The Glide whitewater paddle board has a single-chamber pump, which some of the reviews I read complained about because it takes a long time to inflate the board, which requires quite a bit of effort. The SUP board can withstand 25 PSI, but it would be difficult for the paddleboard owner to achieve that.

If you don’t want to deal with less hassle, you should invest in an electric SUP pump to make the inflation process more convenient and relaxed. I recommend my absolute best OM Shark II electric pump. The paddleboard should be inflated to a pressure of 13-15 PSI. Deflating is just as easy – simply open the valve and let the air out. The whole process takes less than five minutes, making it a breeze to get on and off the water.

Glide Whitewater Paddle Board Review 9

Warranty
The Glide whitewater paddle board comes with a two-year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee. For more information on the warranty of this iSUP board, please read the warranty terms on their website.

The Glide whitewater paddle board is ideal for river cruising and experiencing an adrenaline rush with your paddleboarding activities. This board is stable, long-lasting, and easy to maneuver.

Designed for rough river adventures and extreme river adventures. It is an excellent SUP board for those who enjoy a strenuous paddleboarding ride.

In The Package: What’s in the box

The Glide whitewater paddle board has a paddle made of fiberglass with an ABS blade. This paddle is adjustable, lightweight, and simple to use, making it ideal for extreme river adventures.

Glide Board Paddle

Leash

The Glide whitewater paddle board comes with a coiled SUP leash with an ankle cuff. This accessory is required because if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush and are faced with rapids, this coil leash will keep you covered to ensure that you won’t be out on your board if you get caught in rough waters.

Glide-O2-Retro-Paddle-Board (4)

Pump

This is a dual-action pump with a single chamber with the Glide whitewater paddle board. It was exhausting for me to inflate the board, and it took me 15 minutes to get it up to 15 PSI. If you can’t solve your problems with the included hand pump, you should add an electric SUP pump to your shopping list that will speed up the process and reach the needed PSI without any issue.

Wheeled Backpack

Glide Whitewater Paddle board’s included backpack measures 40 in x 16 in x 10 inches. It also has a front pocket where you can keep personal items. It does not have wheels, unlike the other SUP boards.

Repair Kit

The Glide whitewater paddle board comes with a repair kit. This is one of the essential items to have when paddling in the water because you never know what might happen. This Glide whitewater paddle board, in particular, requires a repair kit because it is designed for extreme adventures in rivers and whitewater, which are prone to some circumstances that may necessitate the use of this repair kit as first aid.

Additional Accessories

Life Jacket

This is a must-have accessory, especially if there will be children or pets on the paddleboard. You can’t just put on any old life jacket and call it good when paddle boarding. You need a properly-fitting personal flotation device (PFD) that is comfortable and won’t get in your way while paddling. While there are many different types and styles of PFDs on the market, here are a few things to consider when choosing the right one for you.

Consider the type of paddle boarding you’ll be doing most often. If you are doing primarily flatwater paddling, you’ll want a different PFD than if you’re planning on tackling some whitewater rapids. Comfort is vital. You don’t want to constantly adjust and readjust your PFD while you’re out on the water, so make sure it fits well and doesn’t chafe or rub in any uncomfortable ways.

Because the SUP has so many activities to offer, it’s best to invest in a high-quality and comfortable life jacket to keep the passengers safe. Keep in mind that you must ensure everyone’s safety. With more options to choose from, an infant life jacket and a dog life jacket are available.

Waterproof Fanny Pack

If you’re planning on hitting the waves for a day of paddle boarding, you’ll want to make sure you have all the gear you need to stay safe and comfortable. One essential item is a waterproof fanny pack. This will help keep your valuables safe and dry as you enjoy your time on the water. There are a few things to consider when choosing a waterproof fanny pack. First, think about what size you need. A smaller bag will be fine if you’re only bringing a few small items with you. But if you’re carrying things like sunscreen, snacks, and extra clothes, you’ll need something more significant.

Electric Pump

The electric pump is an excellent addition to any paddle boarder’s arsenal. It is easy to get your board inflated and ready to hit the water. No more struggling with manual pumps or worrying about whether or not you’ve got enough air in your board. The electric pump does all the work for you.

Kayak Conversion Kit/Seat Cushion

Because the Glide is also a great fishing paddleboard, you might want to consider adding a kayak seat to make your experience more comfortable and enjoyable, especially if you have a passenger.

Water Proof Speakers

A waterproof speaker will enhance your paddling experience on the water. While you’re doing your activity, listen to your favorite song! When paddling, good music will lighten the mood; you can even dance while on the water on this paddleboard because it is guaranteed to be stable! Invest in a high-quality, waterproof sticker that you will be able to use for a long time.

Hard/Soft Coolers

The SUP has two storage areas on the front and back, allowing you to add either a hard or soft cooler. Bring your favorite drink out on the water with you! It’s so much easier to stay hydrated when you have a SUP Cooler with you! This is also recommended for paddlers who will be out on the water for several hours!

Paddle board lock

While paddle boarding is a relatively new sport, its popularity has exploded in recent years. With that increase in popularity, there has also been an increase in people looking for ways to protect their investments. A Paddleboard lock is one of the best ways to do that. There are a few different types of paddleboard locks on the market, but they all serve the same purpose – to keep your board safe from theft. The most important thing to look for in a lock is something that will be difficult for thieves to cut through or break.

Optional accessories (my must-haves – not included)

Here are two of my favorite accessories for this year. One for safety and one because I like to use my time wisely (like take pictures while my board inflates itself) πŸ˜‹

Difference between an Inflatable board and a Hard board

Advantages Inflatable board

  • Easy to take on holiday (even on the plane)
  • Easy to store in the winter days
  • Much cheaper
  • Technology has improved greatly over the past 10 years. For this reason, these boards are now almost hard to distinguish from hard boards

Advantages Hardboard

  • More speed, which is important if you are a professional
  • Easier to make sharp turns on the water because the board is thinner
  • No inflation needed, you can get on the water right away

Conclusion – Should I buy this board?

I must say that the Glide whitewater paddleboard is an impressive SUP board that will provide you with great stability and ease of use. This board is ideal for river and flatwater paddling on lakes and harbors.

With the features that it provides and the performance that it provides, I would say that it is worth the money of a SUP, especially since it is inexpensive! It may be a low-cost board, but it does not sacrifice quality or performance. As we all know, white water paddleboards can be quite costly for some people, but they will provide you with a high-quality and well-constructed use of materials.

This SUP board has been specifically designed to deal with rocks and obstacles in rough water. The Glide Whitewater Paddleboard is so stable that you can even do yoga fitness on it thanks to its length and wide width. If you want more speed, this SUP board may not be the best choice, but it will get you there.

I also liked how the traction pad covers the entire deck for maximum comfort and allows you to move around without fear of falling because it has a grippy surface.

It comes with everything you need to get started paddling, but some of the accessories, such as the SUP pump, could use some improvement. Not only do I, but some other riders who have reviewed this board, complain about how slow the inflation can be using their SUP hand pump. However, if you don’t like the hassle and inconvenience that it brings, there are some alternatives.

I usually use the Outdoor Master Shark II electric SUP to make paddling more comfortable without expending too much energy. You should think about it as well! If you’re looking for a whitewater SUP board while also looking for a budget-friendly board, this might be a good option for you.
