Bluefin Rogue – Is This The Right Board For You?
π₯Check out my full review video to learn more about the Rogueπ₯
Bluefin SUP is a company that has plenty of boards, all with stellar quality and unmatched performance. I can vouch for this because I’ve been working with them for years now and I’ve tried each SUP there is.
With that said, I get many questions about comparing Bluefin’s most notable SUPs, like the Cruise and Cruise Carbon, to the new Rogue. I understand the doubt. People are already quite familiar with the Cruise line (and for sure in love, as I am), and they are unsure if switching to the Rogue is a step in the right direction after owning any of the Cruise SUPs.
With that said, below, I’ll just briefly go over the uses of each of these boards, and I will direct you to my in-depth review of each one to read and learn more. Only that way can you make the right decision of buying the perfect SUP for yourself.

The Cruise, Cruise Carbon, Nitro, and Bluefin Rogue are all great SUPs with unique features.
- The Bluefin Cruise is a versatile and stable SUP that I would recommend to any beginner! It comes with a full package that gets you ready to hit the water as soon as that box arrives.
- The Bluefin Cruise Carbon is an advanced version of the regular Cruise that uses more rigid technology, making the SUP sleeker, faster, and ideal for more experienced paddlers, but still great for beginners too.
- Moving on to the more advanced versions, the Bluefin Rogue is designed for ultimate stability and maneuverability on the water. This is a touring SUP that will allow you to take any accessories needed with you and go on a journey exploring any type of water.
- Furthermore, the Bluefin Nitro is a race board made for high speed and agility, making it perfect for racing. I recommend this one for advanced paddlers only because its narrow body requires experience and stability.
Check out each individual review to get better informed of the boards and to be able to choose the one that fits your needs and preferences best.
Most suitable for:
The Bluefin Rogue is an all-around board most suited for touring and exploring.
Of course, you donβt always have to go on long paddling tours when using this board but the best thing is that its longer body (longer compared to the Cruise) can take more weight so you can bring a cooler, food, drinks, and have a picnic on the water effortlessly.

The Bluefin Rogue is very stable so I’m sure the more you get used to it the more uses you’ll find for it. I loved the casual touring since it is such a spacious all-around board!
Pro’s
- Can handle a variety of water conditions, from calm lakes to choppy ocean waves
- Made from high-quality military-grade PVC material with a drop-stitch core and triple-layer rail construction
- Able to withstand bumps and scrapes
- Stable and sturdy board
- Easy to transport and store all the accessories
- Extra D-rings for expansion of luggage space
- Removable bungee cord.
- Additional handles for easy lifting.
- Kick-pad on the back.
- Can attach a kayak conversion kit
- Removable center fin
- Can attach additional gear, such as an action camera mount
Cons
- I found the pump quite small (although this way, it fits in the backpack perfectly)
- Quite heavy when inflated
- It can take some time and effort to inflate the board to the recommended pressure with the given pump. This is why I recommend e-pumps, especially for SUPs like this.

Guess what, fellow adventurers? I just hopped on the Bluefin Rogue SUP and it was downright epic! First off, let’s talk about the board’s design – sleek and sturdy, it looked like it could take on the world! As a newbie, I was psyched to find that the board felt like it could handle anything the water had to throw at it.
So, I hopped on and immediately felt the stability. No wobbling, no flipping, just smooth sailing. Steering was a breeze, too – the board was super responsive, so I could dodge any obstacle with ease. But what really impressed me was the board’s stealth mode. It was so quiet, and I felt like I was one with nature.
And can we talk versatility for a second? This board was a jack of all trades! Whether I was paddling through serene waters or catching some waves, the Bluefin Rogue had me covered. And get this, folks – I even tested my yoga skills on it! Yup, the board was that reliable.
The paddle included has a shaft that weighs 45% less than the usual paddle shafts so itβs super lightweight and comfortable to use. On top of that, the paddle also can be used along with the kayak seat since it can be converted to a double-blade paddle if youβre feeling a SUP kayak moment. So versatile!
It Offers the Ultimate Touring Experience
Of course, as with any other Bluefin paddle boards that I like, the Rogue SUP is durable and it feels like it can last a really long time. Thatβs because the design in this board is well-thought out and is made with 1000 denier exo surface laminate PVC and an excellent pro weave drop stitch technology. Not to mention the 5-year warranty the product comes with!
Overall, my experience with the Bluefin Rogue was beyond words. I got to explore the water, take in the scenery, and even break a sweat. If you’re on the hunt for a high-quality paddleboard that can handle any situation, you won’t regret giving this bad boy a try. Trust me, it’s worth it!

Important Features

Speaking of the design, because the Bluefin Rogue SUP has a round tail and a raised kick, I was able to maneuver the paddle board easily when I was testing it out for this review.
Although Iβm excited to see what else this SUP can offer in terms of my aqua fitness, I will definitely test it out some more when I get the time. π
Setup
- Rear Speed Rail For Smooth Water Release
- Numerous Anchor Points Along With Detachable
- Bungees Create Modula Cargo Spaces
- Large Centre Handle To Carry Cargo Weight
- Held On The Bow And Stern
- FRS Carbon Rails For Added Stiffness
Fins
This board is a total game-changer, thanks to its central US box fin that makes it stable and maneuverable. So, whether you’re looking to cruise, race or even catch some waves, this board has got you covered.
Material
Now, let’s talk materials, people. This board is built like a tank, with triple-layer military-grade PVC and drop-stitch construction to keep it strong and sturdy. Plus, the deck space is covered in a non-slip UV UV-resistant traction pad, so you won’t slip and slide around. Score!
Inflate / deflate
What about the inflating and deflating, you ask? Child’s play, my friends! The included high-pressure pump may be small, but it only took me 6 minutes and 30 seconds to inflate the board. And when it’s time to pack up and head home, just use the high-pressure valve for quick deflation. Voila!
Warranty
Warranty? You betcha! The Bluefin NXT Rogue 12.6 Paddleboard comes with a 5-year warranty, so you can rest easy knowing you’re covered if anything goes awry.
Design
Last but not least, let’s talk design, folks. This board is sleek and modern, with a pointy nose and wide tail for some serious speed and maneuverability. And if you’re bringing gear along for the ride, no problem! The board’s got a bunch of attachment points for accessories like bungee cords and D-rings.
In the package
What’s inside the box of the Bluefin Rogue SUP? Let’s take a look!
Paddle

First up, we have the paddle. This is no ordinary paddle, folks. It’s made with a carbon fiber shaft and a PVC paddle blade, so it’s tough as nails.
The handle has some extra rubber for a better grip, and you can adjust the height to fit your needs. And let me tell you, this baby performs like a dream out on the water.
Fins

Now, let’s talk about fins. The Bluefin Rogue comes with the US Fin Box system, which is known for its durability and strength. And let me tell you, these fins are no joke. They provide excellent stability and maneuverability out on the water.
Pump

But what about inflating the board, you ask? Fear not, my friends, for the SUP pump is here! It’s super easy to use, with a triple-action feature that inflates the board quickly and efficiently. However, be warned – using the pump for too long can cause some discomfort in your back and it might make you tired before even hopping on the board.

But hey, if weβre going to use the board for fitness activities, might as well start your pre-workout with some SUP pumping session, am I right? π Either way, the small and compact size of the pump is just perfect so you can fit it inside your SUP backpack.
Alternatively, you can always get an electric pump like one of these and let it do the job for you!
Leash

Oh, and don’t forget about the coiled leash! It’s long enough to give you some room to move, but not so long that it gets in the way. And it attaches to your ankle and the board, so you won’t lose your board in case of a wipeout.
The leash included in the packages is comfortable and it feels like itβs made with high-quality materials. Aside from that, the leash Bluefin Rogue comes with is attached to one of the boardβs d-rings, so itβs really easy to install as well.
Backpack

Next, we have the SUP bag. It’s like a big, comfy backpack for your paddleboard! There’s plenty of room inside for all the other goodies, plus a front pocket for accessories. And get this – the front pocket is made of waterproof material, so you don’t have to worry about your stuff getting wet.
Plus, you can flip the bag inside out and tuck it away on the board when you’re out on the water. The only downside? The pump doesn’t fit inside the bag, so you’ll have to carry that separately.
Repair Kit & Waterproof Phone Case

And last but not least, we have the repair kit and waterproof phone case. The repair kit includes everything you need to fix any minor issues with your board, including PVC patches and a key for the valve.

And the waterproof phone case is perfect for keeping your phone safe and dry while you’re out on the water.
So there you have it, folks – everything you need to hit the water with your Bluefin Rogue Paddleboard!

Difference Between an Inflatable board and a Hard Board
Advantages Inflatable board
- Easy to take on holiday (even on the plane)
- Easy to store in the winter days
- Much cheaper
- Technology has improved greatly over the past 10 years. For this reason, these boards are now almost hard to distinguish from hard boards
Advantages Hardboard
- More speed, which is important if you are a professional
- Easier to make sharp turns on the water because the board is thinner
- No inflation needed, you can get on the water right away
Other Reviews of The Bluefin Rogue 12’6″ Online
Sturdy. Buoyant. Well made. I was initially skeptical but after trying it out it won over my confidence. I paddle without care. I am a heavy man at 220lbs so I got the 12″ one. Very happy with the purchase.

Bluefin Rogue 12’6″ Inflatable Touring Paddle Board. This paddle board has been great. It’s super easy to inflate, although our manual pump broke due to leaving it in the car and we think it melted the inside. However, all of the gadgets included in this paddleboard set are great. Would recommend. It’s super cute too!
