This Stormline Paddle Board offers an amazing design in a complete package
The Stormline Powermax Pro 11’6″ Paddle Board offers an amazing and colorful design in a complete package. Personally I think the design looked a lot better when I received the board than when I checked it on the website, so that is a big plus. It also contains a carbon paddle, which makes it light and easy to paddle around the water.
Next to the paddle the board includes a coiled leash in striking red, double action pump, very high quality backpack, footrest and a repair kit. This surely enough for any beginner or even more advanced paddler to get started with paddle boarding.
This is one of the higher end boards of the Stormline Paddle Board series, so currently it has a price tag of β¬890, which is fair compared to other boards of this quality that include a carbon paddle and all these other accessories.
I have tested this board extensively and you will see a lot of personal pictures of me carrying or floating around on this board. In my review below I will show you how I experienced this paddle board and why it is so great.
Pro’s
- Great price for a complete package with high quality accessories
- Stable board with an amazing design
- Great for beginners and advanced boarders
- Inflatable up to 20 PSI
- Raised kick pad and action camera mount
- Carbon paddle included in the package
Cons
- No kayak seat, even though it does have a footrest
- Double paddle doesn’t have a second blade
The Powermax PRO 11.6 is most suitable for:
The Powermax PRO 11.6 is a great high quality Stand Up Paddle board in a higher price segment, that offers a lot to get out on the water and enjoy your trip to the maximum. For beginners the price might be a bit on the high end, which is why this board might be more suitable for advanced paddlers. Unless you have a high budget and want to get started on the best right away.
This board is all-around, but it also offers some stability for touring with its length and width. This board is suitable for many purposes, but with a maximum carrying capacity of 140 kg / 309 lbs I wouldn’t recommend it for use with multiple persons, unless it’s two smaller persons or children.
If you are looking for boards that are specifically made for this purpose you can check out the complete collection of Stormline Paddle Boards, where you will find 14′ boards that can be used for use with multiple persons without any problems.
There are also boards for other purposes to be found there, like Yoga, surfing, bigger touring boards and other activities on your Stand Up Paddle Board.
The board has an amazing design (better than it looks online even), offers a stable ride and has a size of 11’6″ / 350 cm long and 31.5″ / 80 cm wide. This makes the board suitable for both beginners and advanced paddlers, if you don’t take the budget into account as mentioned before.
The thickness of 6″ / 15 cm is pretty much the standard for inflatable Stand Up Paddle Boards these days and offers a rigid and stable platform for everyone that uses it. The three fin system helps to keep the right course without drifting off to the sides, which makes it even easier to paddle across the water on higher speeds.
Even though the price is higher, it does offer good value for money and you will be able to get out on the water straight away and enjoy without having to purchase any extra accessories or necessities. Stormline Paddle Boards offers a 3 year warranty on all of their boards! (read more about the warranty on their website)
With the high quality of this board you can be assured that it will go a long way, but if there happen to be any manufacturing issues with the board you can be sure to be covered.
If you want a high quality paddle board with an amazing design and a very good paddle the Stormline Powermax Pro 11’6″ is a great choice for you to get out on the water.
Length | Width | Thickness | Max weight load | Weight board |
11’6″ | 31.5″ | 6″ | 309 LBS / 140 kg | 19.8 LBS / 9 kg |
Primary use
All Round / Relaxing / Yoga / Touring / Pets
Speed on the water
The board is designed for every paddler with an all-around purpose, so speed is not the main focus. But because of the pointy nose it is possible to reach some higher speeds than the regular shaped all-around paddle boards.
Transport
The board has a weight of 19.8 LBS / 9 kg and is not hard to carry in the supplied backpack with comfortable padded straps and wheels. One of the best backpacks I have tried so far!
Stability
The 31.5″ width makes the board more stable than an average 30″ width board, so you will feel good and balanced on longer trips. The 6″ thickness and the comfortable grip deck offer even more stability and support.
My own experience
When I unpacked the board, I was very pleasantly surprised with the high quality and overall good look of the board. I had some high expectations of the board and the design when I saw it online, but in reality it looked a lot better even! It felt good to finally be able to go out onto the local lake with this board and experience all of it, in between the regular rainy days at the office in this Dutch summer.
There are a lot of high quality accessories in the package, like the big red (why red?) coiled SUP leash, the carbon paddle, very high quality backpack, repair kit and dual action pump.
After unpacking the board and all the accessories I rolled it out and started inflating the Stormline Powermax Pro 11’6″ paddle board. It took me about 6,5 minutes to inflate this board to 18 PSI, which is a decent speed for inflation!
Watch my Unboxing video of the Stormline Powermax Pro 11’6″
The Stormline Powermax 11’6″ is very easy to carry to the water as it has a weight of only 9 kg. The board felt very stable, not just for shorter distances but also very suitable for longer tours.
The carbon paddle that is included is of the highest quality and makes it very light and easy to paddle through the water. The only downside I noted here is that a second hand grip for kayaking is included, but there is no second blade included, which makes that second hand grip rather obsolete. Both should be included to make this package complete.
The bungee cord for luggage on the front of the board is extra big, with 6 D-rings instead of the usual 4. You can take bigger backpacks and for instance camping gear in case you want to go spend a night in the wild or want some extra comfort going out.
The high quality grip deck feels good and I felt very comfortable and stable standing on it. As you can see not only the functionality is great, but also the looks of the board are very appealing.
The kick pad that is located on the tail of the board enables you to shift your weight back, so you can lift up the front of the board to make turning easier.
With the size of the board it can also used for some decent touring, but it’s mostly meant for all around purposes. As the board has quite a pointy shape it is possible to reach higher speeds on the water as you have less resistance than on a rounder board. The three fin system ensures that you will stay in a straight line when you are paddling around the water at higher speeds.

Warranty
Stormline offers a 3-year warranty on the board.
Design
The Stormline Powermax Pro 11’6″ has a very nice and colorful design with great images. One of the best looking boards I have tested overall.
In the package
Paddle
There is a 2-Piece adjustable and convertible paddle. As mentioned earlier in this review, this paddle is very light and will make it easy to paddle through the waters without straining your muscles too much. There is a second hand grip included, but no second blade. So unless you purchase a separate blade and kayak seat you cannot use this SUP for kayaking purposes.
The T-bar of this paddle has a nice ergonomic grip, as you are able to see on the picture below. There is a handy length indicator with clip, so you can always set the paddle to right height for you.

Pump
The Stormline Powermax 11’6″ paddle board includes a double action pressure pump, so the board gets inflated extra fast, both when pulling up and pushing it down. This is a lot faster than with a normal stand pump. This pump is just fine to inflate your Stormline Powermax Pro 11’6″ Paddle Board.
As you can see on my pictures below the pump has a very clear pressure gauge. The board can be inflated up to 20 PSI, but at 15 to 18 PSI the board will surely be sturdy enough to go out on the water.
The Stormline pump has a handy ergonomic grip on both the handle and the bottom, so even with wet hands or feet the pump will not slip away.. The pump easily fits into the backpack and is very light, so easily transportable.

Leash
The leash that is included with the Stormline Powermax 11’6″ paddle board is a coiled leash, which is obvious and red for your safety, it will always catch your eye. Because it is a coiled leash, it will only extend when you fall into the water. So it will never be on the way of your paddling and you can always feel free
You can attach the leash to the D-ring on the back of the board. So no matter what happens when you fall into the water, you will never lose your board out of sight and will always be able to pull yourself out of the water onto your board. Even with strong currents, so you know you are always safe.
The extra thick padding on the inside of the Velcro ankle attachment will make you forget that you are even wearing a leash and just feel comfortable around your ankle without any irritation.
Backpack
The Stormline paddle board backpack is the most comfortable backpack I have come across in all my tests so far. This is my favorite accessory by far and is surely worth it. Bungee cords on the side to easily take your paddle or other extra stuff you want to bring out on the water.
A great green color, matching the board and the wheels on the bottom of the bag make it very easy to take this board along to the water. The bag has a lot of handgrip, so it can be carried in many different positions and even with a second person.
The padded shoulder pads are very comfortable and make it easy to carry this light board. The only thing that could have been added to this backpack would be an extra chest clip for more security, but as the board is quite light this is not mandatory in this case.
The backpack has a space of 55 x 35 x 25 cm / 21.7″ x 13.8″ x 9.8″, with a weight of only
897 g. It has more storage space available than the Stormline Powermax 11’6″ board really needs, so you can carry a lot of extra things in here.

Difference between an Inflatable board and a Hard board
Advantages Inflatable board
- Easy to take on holiday (even on the plane)
- Easy to store in the winter days
- Much cheaper
- Technology has improved greatly over the past 10 years. For this reason, these boards are now almost hard to distinguish from hard boards
Advantages Hardboard
- More speed, which is important if you are a professional
- Easier to make sharp turns on the water because the board is thinner
- No inflation needed, you can get on the water right away

Conclusion – Should I buy the Powermax PRO 11.6?
The Stormline Powermax Pro 11.6 is a very good all-around inflatable Stand Up Paddle board for both beginners and advanced paddlers. The complete package with all accessories and even a carbon paddle makes it worth the purchase for anyone that wants to start paddling seriously or that wants to get a more advanced board to tour on instead of one of the budget boards.
This board has a great and attractive design and it feels very comfortable on the water. The kick pad on the tail makes it easier to make turns by raising the nose of the board up out of the water a bit. The big bungee cord on the nose of the board offers some extra luggage space to take along all the necessary gear on the water.
Throughout the article you have read the many advantages the Powermax Pro 11’6″ offers and the complete package. A very stable and originally designed board, the convertible carbon paddle, double action hand pump, backpack and coiled leash, 11 D-rings, the big grip deck with kick pad, action camera mount and 3 fins (of which the big one is removable). A lot of quality items in the package when purchasing the Powermax Pro 11’6″ paddle board.
The price is in a quite higher segment and will probably make a lot of new paddlers doubt about purchasing this board to get started on. It will be worth it if you are sure you like the sport and want to continue for years to come, but for a first try the price will scare people off.
With the complete package that is included with the Stormline Powermax Pro 11’6″ you have everything you need to get out on the water. If you are looking for a higher quality board to get started on and you have a bigger budget available, this is a great choice for you.

What do you think about this board and the awesome design of it? Do you think it’s worth the higher purchase price, or would you pick a different board in this price range?
This is a phenomenal board! I have purchased this last month and I am enjoying it daily on the lake close to my home. Although it is colder outside now and I often wear a bodywarmer I still enjoy the freedom and fresh air on the water. This board is very stable and looks so good, I feel very comfortable on it!
