The story behind Bluefin

Bluefin SUP is originally an English company, specialized in kayaks. These kayaks were super strong, of very good quality and soon there was a huge fan base for these products, and for Bluefin. Not only in the UK but all over the world people wanted these kayaks.

The only disadvantage: sending and shipping such a large and heavy product is practically impossible. After many years of doubting the owner made the change from hard kayaks to the inflatable paddle boards. And how! Bluefin is one of the fastest growing companies in the stand up paddle industry, and quite rightly so. Every year they come up with a new collection and every year I am more impressed.

Did you know that Bluefin is a family business? Husband and (future) wife run the business but even nieces and other family members are involved in this fast growing business. The Bluefin Cruise is a great SUP board for anyone looking for a stable, all-round product with great specifications and in a great package. The Bluefin Carbon is in my opinion the best SUP board available at the moment. If you are looking for an all-round board, you don’t have to look any further. This strong, almost unbreakable board is perfect for any kind of paddle boarding. Whether you want to relax, tour (at speed) or enjoy a nice summer day with several people, this board is the way to go. I see this board as the best paddle board of 2021.

Bluefin Cruise JR – kids paddle board

Especially for the ‘little ones’ there is the BlueFin SUP Cruise Junior. This board is 8′ long, 29″ wide and has a maximum weight of 120 kg / 265 lbs. Its length ensures that the board is ideal for people smaller than 1.60m.

Because the board can lift up to 120 kg, this is not necessarily for children. Even older people who are a little bit smaller can handle it very well.

The Bluefin SUP Sprint is the board you buy when you’re really looking for adventure. This board is made for speed, touring and racing. This board is suitable for advanced users. It is no less than 14′ long and 30″ wide. The tight tip forward ensures that the board glides well and fast through the water.

Bluefin Voyage

For fitness and yoga lovers Bluefin has designed this board. Water sports enthusiasts looking for just a little bit more stability buy this board. The Bluefin SUP Voyage is 20% wider than an average paddle board. With its length of 10’10” and a width of 38″(!), this board really is steady as a rock on the water. Take another look at the Sprint above: it’s only 30″ wide.

So the deck is made to give you just that extra bit of stability you want. This can be during a yoga exercise, but also while fishing, lying relaxed on the board, or whatever you want. A great paddle board to relax on.

• Very suitable for people who are looking for more balance on their paddle board

Bluefin Mammoth

Looking for a big paddle board for the whole family (or two, or three families)? The Bluefin SUP Mammoth is a board that can hold up to 10 people. With a maximum weight of 650 kg / 1433 lbs, this board is (only) suitable for group use. The 18′ length and the width of 60″ (!) make it impossible to paddle board on your own on this board.

Sports clubs, scouts, company outings, campsites, holiday parks, you name it. This board is great fun to use as a group activity.

I haven’t tested the board myself but I read very positive stories about it on the internet.

• Up to 10 people on one paddle board (max 650 kg / 1433 lbs weight)

Bluefin Aura Fit

Looking for a very specific Yoga SUP Board, that not only has a great look and deck for Yoga but also can be used as a very stable normal paddle board? The Bluefin Aura Fit offers a beautiful board that you can do all your exercises on, including the high quality accessories that you’re used to, including the fiberglass paddle.

This Bluefin SUP is one of the very few boards I have seen that has no carrying handle in the middle, so you will not feel a bump in your back when lying down. Just perfect! Smarter design and a very good and big grip deck. The board has a total size of 91 cm x 325 cm / 36″ x 10’8″, which makes it a very stable platform for all work outs.

Bluefin Nitro

You enjoy Bluefin surfboards, but a traditional, narrow racing board has been missing. You would then experience the same emotions we do, which is why we are so grateful we were given the opportunity to test the new super athlete of the board range with the Nitro.

Bluefin has changed and expanded a significant portion of the board choices for the 2022 season!

There has long been a 14′ variant available for the Sprint, but because to its width, it was a little too sluggish for true speed fanatics. With the Bluefin Nitro 14′, this is now changing!

It’s great that Bluefin now gives true SUP racing enthusiasts their money’s worth. Even more satisfying is the fact that the maker was able to construct a truly sturdy package. The new Bluefin Nitro’s unique structure and exceptional rigidity are undoubtedly a plus.

A fairly extensive, carefully considered range of features that are geared to the area of usage are added to this, along with a premium accessory package that accurately reflects the caliber of the board. A very sporty racing package all around.

The width is the ideal choice for adding the last touch of adaptability and fundamental stability. As a skilled paddler, you won’t always need to be on the edge of your balance and will have a stable base even in stormy waters.

The deal is reasonable in terms of price as well. Such a board could theoretically exist, but not for a cheap price. However, for experienced, quality-conscious customers, the price-performance ratio is generally extremely well matched!

Bluefin Rogue

Bluefin has altered, extended, and therefore entirely reconfigured its board range for the 2022 season. A really thoroughbred and sporty touring board is now accessible for the first time thanks to the Rogue 12.6.

There have always been models with good touring qualities, such the Bluefin Cruise 12′ and the Sprint, but these boards haven’t fully fallen into this category yet.

With the Bluefin Rogue 12’6 the firm is now addressing this little gap in a promising manner.

For the first time, the business is offering a pure and traditional touring model with the Rogue 12’6. In my opinion, from a professional standpoint, this gap needs to be closed. But it was really worth the wait to get this.

A well-designed, athletic, and high-quality touring Bluefin SUP board that, at least in my opinion, leaves nothing to be desired. The carbon rails and welded MSL construction produce extremely rigidity while still keeping the weight within acceptable bounds. The features are quite adaptable, and the accessory bundle is excellent.

The critiques are listed more quickly; yet, other from the pump’s rather small format, I am at a loss for words. The Bluefin Rogue is obviously not cheap and novices will undoubtedly turn away at this price. But there’s no denying that expert paddlers with high standards for performance, quality, and gear are also part of the target market.

The renowned Bluefin 5-year warranty puts the cost into perspective when taking into account the durability. The costs are reasonable when compared to the overall quality, which, in my opinion, yields a very favorable price-performance ratio. Absolute approval for the buy!

Bluefin E-Swift Electric Pump

The pump is really strong and easy to use with big buttons. You can adjust the pressure on the display by pushing the plus or minus button. The pump has a display that shows the pressure in the bar or PSI.

Once you set the desired pressure, the pump automatically switches to position two once the board reaches the first pressure. It turns off when fully inflated, which usually takes about 10-15 minutes, depending on the board size and pressure needed.

The pump has various attachments and comes with two plugs, one for the car’s 12v plug and one for the battery. However, it doesn’t include an extra cable for the regular plug, which would have been a nice addition.

Conclusion: Get a Bluefin SUP board or not?

I’m a huge fan of Bluefin SUP. The brand really appeals to me. A relatively small team has managed to turn a successful kayak producer into one of the most popular brands in Europe in just a few years.

So they MUST be doing something right.

The boards I reviewed were all of sublime quality. From opening the box to inflating the Bluefin SUP, everything feels high quality.

The boards are lovely in the water and there is a very clear focus per board:

In my opinion, a much clearer distinction is not possible.
