It also has wheels, making it simple to transport
Nice graphics and colors, cool hip design, especially on the back

Limited nose cargo space. I’d like to see them move the d-rings up more towards the nose of the board and expand the front bungee area.
Carbon strips make it hard to roll/fold the SUP
The outline of the deck pad could use some work (glue came off a portion that contours the D rings)
The bag could be too bulky for those wanting to go on a hike
Glue residue everywhere
Elastic on the left side of the SUP (inconvenient for paddling)
All three fins feel loose when placed, so they need to be fixed.
What Makes Newport G4 Paddle Board Stand Out?
The NIXY Newport G4 paddle board in 10’6” is a popular choice for a beginner-friendly and affordableall-around paddle board. With fusion technology and carbon fiber rails, the Newport is very rigid and sturdy, making it ideal for beginners or advanced paddle boarders who want to bring along their furry companion or a friend.
It has a high weight capacity that adds to the board’s stability on the water while also being lightweight; this makes it ideal for traveling and carrying to and from the water. The overall quality seems excellent. The Newport feels solid and very rigid when fully inflated. You can see that in the picture below where I’m standing on it and the SUP doesn’t bend at all. Every part of the board has been well thought out.
It is somehow similar to the 10’8” Cruise from Bluefin, except the G4 may be a little more maneuverable and has extra width for slightly more stability.
I noticed how stable it was right off the bat; it was a comfortable ride. Therefore, it can also be used for other SUP activities, such as fishing, fitness, or photography.
It also feels great to just stop and chill out while paddling on calm water. You can lay or sit comfortably and not feel like you’re going to roll over in the water.
Overall, the Nixy Newport G4 paddle board is an affordable and ideal recreational SUP for individuals looking to get into paddle boarding or for those looking for a recreational touring board.
With quite a few features, it will also satisfy even more advanced paddlers.
It is also relatively smooth and efficient on the water, making it ideal for long expeditions.
There is a ton of storage onboard, including Velcro loops on the side for your paddle, and the entire deck pad is remarkably comfortable. Because of the taller sides of the board, it is raised above the water and can effortlessly be set off course on windy days.
The Nixy Newport G4 is an inflatable SUP designed for all-around use, especially for beginners and intermediates. Ideal for both flatwater paddling and lightsurf.
It’s a versatile board that can be used in various conditions, making it an excellent choice for those who want to paddle in different types of water. The G-Series is also an excellent option for those new to paddle boarding, as it is stable and easy to maneuver.

Speed on the water Of course, don’t expect to show up to a SUP race and win with this board because you are not going to. But then again, this board is not built for speed. It has to sacrifice some of that for stability and maneuverability to make it an all-around board.
Transport Comes with a premium quality 3-wheeled backpack. NIXY Paddleboards are compact and lightweight, making carrying and traveling easy regardless of destination.
Stability Built with Dual Layer Drop Stitch PVC Body and Carbon Fiber side rails NIXY SUPs are built to last and be puncture resistant. The NIXY Newport G4 paddle board is the finest choice for any person of any size or age. It was designed to be stable, fast, and easy to maneuver from beginners to intermediate paddlers.
With a high weight capacity of 300 to 350lbs, this board is truly made for stability. The carbon fiber reinforced rails and the dual-layer fusion tech make this board super rigid, mimicking a hardboard. This rigidity boosts the stability of the NIXY Newport G4, making it perfect for beginners thanks to its enhanced and large surface.
It has more width than comparable SUP boards at 33 inches, such as the Cruise 10-8 but less than Thurso Surf Waterwalker 132. That means it has more stability than the former and more maneuverability than the latter. Thanks to the high weight capacity, more experienced paddle boarders can also enjoy this board and even take along their dog or friend.
On the face of it, it all looks great, and the SUP is more than fine for someone who SUPs short bits every now and then, but for someone who wants to go on longer trips or is experienced, this SUP is just not it. At least not for this price. A lot of plastic has been used, which is not very reliable.
The SUP itself is hard to fit in the bag; the bag could have been slightly wider for this. This is a bit hard to roll/fold due to the carbon strips.
The side pockets for the paddle and pump are excellent, just like the 3 pockets in the bag for the fins and the large pocket on the front of the bag for the accessories.
The bag has a large zipper, so you can get the SUP in with all the accessories. It also has wheels, making it easy to transport. And the whole thing looks sleek and beautiful.
There’s also a fishing rod holder – at first, I did not know what the holder was for, so I had to google a bit. Not interesting for me; since I want to do SUP, not go fishing but for anyone that likes to fish, I think it’s a great extra.
However, although I don’t have experience in SUP fishing, I don’t think the SUP is stable enough to fish with. Also, because it is high on the water, it, therefore, catches a lot of wind, therefore you quickly drift off. Not useful while fishing, it seems to me.
I think this is a bit of a rickety plastic thing. When you have it mounted on the SUP, it remains wobbly.
In addition, it is surprising that a lamp set is included. Rechargeable via USB.
Unfortunately, this attachment leaves something to be desired; it would have been cool if you could screw these lights onto the SUP. You have to attach them with rubber rings to the iron rings of the rubber bands with the result that the lights lie on their back and shine upwards. But maybe I’m doing something wrong. Anyone else knows? Leave your experience in the comments below!
There’s also a 5-liter dry bag colored blue, but I do not see the added value of this one. Maybe you should put this bag in the 10-liter bag for the more fragile stuff? This drybag has no handle, and you can not attach it to the rubber bands on the SUP for extra safety.
In my opinion and from experience with SUPing with other boards, I would skip this drybag and put a phone case in its place. And also, a drybag 10- and 30-liter backpack is made from thick material and very handy. With a carrying strap. Since the SUP is so lightweight, it is wobbly. You rock over quickly. This is, therefore, a board for the more experienced SUPer or someone with a good balance.
It is very maneuverable because of its short length. However, you must continuously steer; you can not paddle straight ahead when you make a paddle stroke on 1 side. The board is surprisingly stiff and stable, really a plus for newbies.
The NIXY Newport comes in 6 different colors; Fuchsia, Blue, Aqua, Exuma, Maui, and Baja. This is an excellent range here that’ll allow both male and female users to find something they like.
The colored part of the board is the EVA traction pad. This pad is diamondgrooved and machine pressed under 200 PSI to ensure it’s perfectly glued to the rest of the board. The best thing about it is that it covers most of the board’s back for better stability. It slides less and your feet are more comfortable.
Then we have the front storage area with 4 D-rings and a bungee cord; this is where you’ll get to secure your cargo or any necessary equipment for your touring journey.
Next, there are 2 D-rings on the board’s sides. These two are meant for kayak seat attachment, which goes hand in hand with touring.
A 7th D-ring is on the board’s tail so that you can use the featured safety leash.
Fins The Newport comes with 3 detachable fins, one of which is central and large (9 inches), and the other 2 are smaller and lateral (6 inches).
Material The Newport is made using layers of liquid PVC material fused with the inner drop stitch core to reach just the perfect bond and solidness to create a firm board. The Newport’s body is reinforced using outer layer bands and airtight and waterproofseals to prevent leakage. Every part of this board is tightly pressed and laminated; it all seems like one neat and united piece.
Inflate / deflate Pumping up to 15 PSI took just under 11 minutes. That is fast and is because it is a dual pump. To speed up the process, I recommend my absolute best OM Shark II electric pump. Deflating is just as easy – simply open the valve and let the air out.
The company provides a 30-day risk-free return policy, which takes the worry out of your purchase if you find it not the right board. You may only pay return shipping, and they do not charge a restocking fee like some other brands.
The NIXY Newport G4 paddle board has a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty and a 30-day guarantee as mentioned above, including coverage for everything outwith the usual wear and tear of the board. Just make sure to secure the proof of purchase for further documentation.
Design The NIXY Newport G4 paddle board is designed for both beginner and experienced paddlers alike. It has a wide, stable platform that makes it easy to balance on, and its length provides good stability and tracking in the water; the NIXY Newport G4 paddle board has a fresh, vibrant design, available in multiple colors.
In The Package: What’s in the box?
NIXY G4 Carbon Fiber Hybrid Paddle
3 piece, height adjustable, carbon, with plastic blade and ditto handle and adjustable tip. Especially the handle is not nice, too small for my hands and the plastic is hard and because of the little bubbles in it not pleasant.
The point where the SUP is adjustable, the screws were loose so the paddle kept sliding ‘in’. A matter of tightening, but still. This is also a plastic point which is very vulnerable and I think will break quickly, the quality is not heavy so to say. Furthermore, it is a fine lightweight paddle, 3-piece is nice.
Length: 67” to 84”
Shaft Diameter: 28.5 mm
Weight: 1.54 lbs. (25 oz)
Wide nylon blade: 90 sq inches
What I noticed is that the paddle is pretty straight, so the blade does not really point away from you when you are paddling.
NIXY Hybrid Leash
Long enough and suitable for around the ankle. This bundle contains a bonus leash specially designed for paddleboarding. Leashes work well in rivers or rough surf, where you want to stay connected to your board if you fall off. Coiled leashes are preferred over straight ones because they do not get entangled around your feet.
Deluxe ankle strap
Diameter: 7 mm
Hybrid coiled / Straight SUP leash
High-quality polyurethane cord
Stainless steel double swivels
The pump is very easy to use. It took just under 11 minutes to pump up to 15 PSI. That’s quick since it’s a double action pump. You can set it to inflate or deflate, which is easy to getting the SUP back into the supplied bag.
The pump has three settings that you can use while pumping, as the PSI in the board increases, you switch to a lighter pump setting. The ‘foot-pieces’ can be folded up to make the pump more compact, portable and easy to transport.
Accurate pressure gauge
Dimension of 25″ h x 13 ½” w x 5″ d
Folded dimensions: 25″ h x 9″ w x 6″ d
High-pressure triple action pump
Inflates up to 29 PSI
Removable handles and foldable legs
Weight: 4.37 lbs.
This extra-large SUP bag has rolling wheels, padded backpack straps, and side carrying handles. Therefore, you can transport it in various ways. It is so convenient and comfortable that you may choose to use it for other purposes besides carrying your SUP.
3-wheel heavy-duty backpack
Extra padded straps for comfort
Pockets to insert shoulder straps
Side pockets with drainage grommets
Yes, the NIXY Newport G4 paddle board also has a repair kit! All inflatable paddle boards come with a repair kit that includes a couple of PVC patches, waterproof glue, and a valve tightener.
This is a must-have accessory, especially if there will be children or pets on the paddleboard. You can’t just put on any old life jacket and call it good when paddle boarding. You need a properly-fitting personal flotation device (PFD) that is comfortable and won’t get in your way while paddling. While there are many different types and styles of PFDs on the market, here are a few things to consider when choosing the right one for you.
Consider the type of paddle boarding you’ll be doing most often. If you are doing primarily flatwater paddling, you’ll want a different PFD than if you’re planning on tackling some whitewater rapids. Comfort is vital. You don’t want to constantly adjust and readjust your PFD while you’re out on the water, so make sure it fits well and doesn’t chafe or rub in any uncomfortable ways.
Because the Komodo SUP has so many activities to offer, it’s best to invest in a high-quality and comfortable life jacket to keep the passengers safe. Keep in mind that you must ensure everyone’s safety. With more options to choose from, an infant life jacket and a dog life jacket are available.
Waterproof Fanny Pack
If you’re planning on hitting the waves for a day of paddle boarding, you’ll want to make sure you have all the gear you need to stay safe and comfortable. One essential item is a waterproof fanny pack. This will help keep your valuables safe and dry as you enjoy your time on the water. There are a few things to consider when choosing a waterproof fanny pack. First, think about what size you need. A smaller bag will be fine if you’re only bringing a few small items with you. But if you’re carrying things like sunscreen, snacks, and extra clothes, you’ll need something more significant.
The electric pump is an excellent addition to any paddle boarder’s arsenal. It is easy to get your board inflated and ready to hit the water. No more struggling with manual pumps or worrying about whether or not you’ve got enough air in your board. The electric pump does all the work for you.
Kayak Conversion Kit/Seat Cushion
Because the Gili Komodo SUP is also a great fishing paddleboard, you might want to consider adding a kayak seat to make your experience more comfortable and enjoyable, especially if you have a passenger.
Water Proof Speakers
A waterproof speaker will enhance your paddling experience on the water. While you’re doing your activity, listen to your favorite song! When paddling, good music will lighten the mood; you can even dance while on the water on this paddleboard because it is guaranteed to be stable! Invest in a high-quality, waterproof sticker that you will be able to use for a long time.
The Gili paddleboard has two storage areas on the front and back, allowing you to add either a hard or soft cooler. Bring your favorite drink out on the water with you! It’s so much easier to stay hydrated when you have a SUP Cooler with you! This is also recommended for paddlers who will be out on the water for several hours!
Paddle board lock
While paddle boarding is a relatively new sport, its popularity has exploded in recent years. With that increase in popularity, there has also been an increase in people looking for ways to protect their investments. A Paddleboard lock is one of the best ways to do that. There are a few different types of paddleboard locks on the market, but they all serve the same purpose – to keep your board safe from theft. The most important thing to look for in a lock is something that will be difficult for thieves to cut through or break.
Optional accessories (my must-haves – not included)
Here are two of my favorite accessories for this year. One for safety and one because I like to use my time wisely (like take pictures while my board inflates itself) 😋

One of the first things you will notice when picking the Newport up is how lightweight this SUP board is, that it weighs in at only 21 pounds — a considerable weight reduction compared to some other inflatable SUPs. Additionally, to the impressive weight savings offered by their FUSIONtech and woven drop-stitch construction process, the Newport can handle higher inflation pressures if you need added stiffness.
Overall, the updated Newport is perfect for looking for an extremely lightweight, rigid, and affordable inflatable SUP. This feature-rich board is enjoyable on the water, and it’s a great option if you’re willing to spend a little more on those advanced construction technologies and premium accessories.
