At first, I wondered whether such a small product could really make a noticeable difference. After all, it contains no motor, electronics, battery, or complicated moving parts.
However, once I tested it, the difference in sound was immediately obvious.
Without the deflator, releasing the air from a pressurized SUP can produce around 80 to 85 dB. With the SUP Glider installed, I measured approximately 60 to 65 dB using a phone-based decibel meter.
A telephone decibel meter is not as accurate as professional measuring equipment, so these figures should be seen as practical estimates rather than laboratory results. Nevertheless, the difference was large enough that no measuring device was really necessary to notice it.
Instead of a sudden, aggressive rush of air, the SUP released its pressure with a much softer and more controlled sound.
The SUP Glider is made in Austria by a family-owned company located near Lake Wörthersee. According to the manufacturer, the product is patented and compatible with most common HR valves.
